Austin Carter Band Reunion

On Tuesday November 22, 2011, there occurred a long anticipated reunion of 4 of the original members of the Austin Carter Band. The reunion took place in the front room of the Frederick House, where in the mid 1970, the group practiced. In attendance at the reunion were Derrick Procell on keyboard and vocals, Jason Klagstad on Fender Stratocaster and vocals, Kenn Anderson on guitar and vocals, and of course Todd, who although he was not able to back up the group on his Fender Jazz Bass, he never the less was able to join in on the vocals. Also joining in on guitar, although not a member of the original Austin Carter Band, was Chris Hanson an accomplished musician and one of Todd's neighbors who lives across the street from the Frederick House.

As our good friend Keith Collis, who was drummer for Austin Carter, would say "You had to be there" It was a very moving experience that I shall remember for the remainder of my life. And I know it was equally moving for my brother Todd too.

Before things got started, Derrick presented Todd with some gifts that were given to Todd by Paul Simon. Todd had planned on going with Derrick to the Paul Simon concert, but Todd was not well enough to attend. Todd was to meet Paul Simon in person after the show. So Paul gave Derrick a nice embroidered hoody sweat shirt and an autographed Paul Simon baseball cap to give to Todd. You can see Todd sporting the gifts in the first photo in the photo section below.

I captured the entire event on video and have already produced a 90 minute DVD of the event. I don't know if I will be able to work out a method to post the video on this web site, but I promise to exhaust all efforts to do so.

On behalf of Todd's entire family, I want to personally thank Derrick, Jason, Kenn and Chris for the outpouring of love and support that they showed to Todd by jamming for him in his living room. The love that you and others are showering my brother with, is going a long way to maintain his positive outlook on life.
